Ueslei C. Nascimento
Author and owner of the Day Zero Playbook
Software engineer. Born in Ituberá, in rural Bahia, Brazil, he started programming at 15; his first real system standardised the artificial pollination of cocoa for a non-profit tied to the Odebrecht Foundation. He studied computer science engineering at Universidade Veracruzana in Mexico, where he maintained the web and back-end systems of rural education projects.
He taught programming, ran his own company and moved to Curitiba in 2020. At Ztrax he worked on IoT and real-time 3D map rendering, starting in precision algorithms and going on to lead the front-end team. He is now tech lead of the Connect team at Jacto. His education includes a degree in information systems and three postgraduate courses: software engineering with a focus on testing, software analysis and design, and back-end development.
The Day Zero Playbook comes out of that path: the work done before the first line of code — aligning business and technology, giving every decision an owner, leaving a handoff another team can pick up — is what separates a project that delivers from one that redoes.
